Fox River
Fortified City
An independent city, heavily armed and well-defended, with a government and laws. Under the control of Chancellor Margdelain, Fox River represents one of the more stable and developed settlements in the post-collapse world. It is known for its relative safety compared to the surrounding Wildlands.
Fox River Stack
Urban District
A densely populated section of Fox River constructed from repurposed shipping containers stacked in a complex arrangement. Features narrow alleyways, multi-level structures, and a vibrant community life despite crowded conditions.
Calum-Tam Holdfast
Armed Compound
An oppressive, secure, and tightly controlled facility ruled by Dinh Tam. The holdfast features guards, surveillance cameras, and cells for keeping prisoners or slaves. It was the site of Chase and Quincy's captivity and a key location in their escape narrative.
Broken Bow Free City
Independent Settlement
A settlement with a degree of autonomy and a different power structure from Fox River. Features more relaxed governance and entry protocols, making it an attractive alternative for those unable or unwilling to live under Fox River's strict control.
Wildlander City
Frontier Settlement
A rougher, less organized settlement that has adapted to the harsh realities of the wasteland. Populated largely by those who prefer less structure than the established cities provide, featuring a barter economy and improvised defenses.
Tahua Outpost
Research Station
A remote settlement dedicated to specialized research and development, featuring a restricted zone for highly sensitive projects. Operates with a high degree of secrecy and security, with limited access even for most residents.
Emma's Gorge Aquaponics Facility
Agricultural Settlement
A community built around sustainable food production, using integrated aquatic and plant cultivation systems. One of the few settlements focused primarily on agriculture rather than defense or scavenging.
TERRITORIAL OVERVIEW
In the aftermath of the collapse, political boundaries have been redrawn by necessity and might. The once-unified territories are now a patchwork of independent settlements, unclaimed wildlands, and contested areas where various factions vie for control and resources.
